Last year's dates on the homepage

Now taking new projects
I'm Joseph Shury. I design and build fast, modern websites for local businesses across the Mahoning and Ohio valleys. Before you spend a dime, I'll build you a working concept of your new site to see on your own phone.
Why it matters
I've looked through dozens of local business websites across the Valley. The same few problems come up again and again, and every one of them costs customers.

Text inside images can't be searched by Google or read on a phone. Your best information is invisible.
No form, a phone number buried at the bottom, or everything routed through Facebook. Every extra step loses a lead.
Builder subscriptions that add up year after year, for a site you still have to fight with to update.
Services
A custom site designed around how your customers actually decide: hours, prices, menus, photos and a clear way to call, book or ask.
Keep what's working, fix what isn't. I move your content, photos and links over so you don't lose your place in Google.
New hours, a new special, next season's dates. Text or email me the change and it's done, usually the same day.
Show up when neighbors search. I set up your Google Business Profile and clean up the old directory listings pointing to dead links.
Selected work
Case study · Travel & outdoors
An independent field guide to outdoor Ohio: state parks, forests, ancient mounds, caves, waterfalls and historic sites, with the stories, trails and wildlife behind each place. I designed, wrote the code for and launched the whole thing.
Every pitch starts with a real, working concept built from the business's own photos and story. A few recent design directions (names withheld until launch):
Family farm · Pumpkin patch
Season dates up top, a one-ticket admission card, a five-generation family timeline and a tap-to-call bar on phones.
Banquet hall
Hall capacities, readable menus instead of images, and a "check your date" inquiry form for couples.
Orchard · Cider mill
A market board that changes every month on its own, plus a harvest calendar and a wholesale cider section.
Lakeside event venue
Ceremony and reception pages, photo backdrops, a text menu for fish fry nights and an event inquiry form.
Caterer · Banquet hall
Thursday carry-out pre-orders with a running total, and a quote form that estimates the price as couples type.
Tree service
A call-now bar on every page, a page for every town served, and estimate requests with photo uploads.
Before & after
Drag the handle. On the left, the kind of site I see every week. On the right, what it becomes: current hours up front, a menu Google can read, and one tap to call.
Example uses a made-up diner, not a real business.
Since 1987 · Main Street
Breakfast all day, pie every day.
How it works
A lot of designers want a deposit before you've seen anything. I do it the other way around.
I study your business and your current site, then build a real, working concept of your new one using your own photos and story. No cost, no obligation.
About a weekWe walk through it on your phone. You tell me what to change, what's missing and what to cut. We go back and forth until it feels like you.
1 – 2 weeksI connect your domain, set up hosting, redirect your old pages, and get your Google Business Profile in shape. You don't touch any of it.
A day or twoNew season, new hours, new menu? Text me. On a care plan, updates are included and usually done the same day.

Proof, not promises
Fast sites rank better and lose fewer visitors. No page builder, no bloat, no tracking scripts. These numbers are measured live from your own visit.
Who you'll work with
Ohio Valley Web Development is me, Joseph Shury, working out of Salem. When you call, you get the person who designs and builds your site, not a sales rep or a ticket queue.
I started this because I kept seeing great local businesses with websites that didn't do them justice: farms, halls, shops and trades that deserve better than a dated template. I'd rather show you what's possible than tell you, which is why every project starts with a free concept.
Serving Salem, Canfield, Boardman, Austintown, Youngstown, Columbiana, Poland, Warren and the rest of the Mahoning and Ohio valleys.
FAQ
Yes. I build a working concept of your new site before you pay anything. If you don't love it, you walk away and owe nothing.
Most sites launch in two to four weeks from the day you say go, depending on size and how quickly we trade feedback.
You do. Your domain is registered in your name and you own the design, the content and the files. If we ever part ways, it goes with you.
No. The build is a one-time flat price. The care plan is optional, for people who'd rather text me changes than deal with hosting and updates themselves.
Yes. I can keep your existing domain and email exactly as they are, or help you move them if you'd like.
Yes. I'll bring over your content and photos, set up redirects so old links still work, and help you cancel the old subscription.
